The iOn – the first electric car from Peugeot

The French from Peugeot have presented at the Paris Motor Show the first electric: the iOn. Peugeot iOn will be equipped with an electric engine that will develop 64 HP and 180 Nm and a top speed of 130 km/h. The engine that is powered by a lithium-ion battery of 16kWh, which can be charged in 6 hours to an outlet of 220 volts or at 80% capacity in 30 minutes with a special charger.
Electric model from Peugeot offers four seats, and the effective length of the rear seat of 1,625 millimeters. The windshield has an area of 1.16 square meters and the maximum payload of the model is 330 kilograms. Therefore, the maximum authorized total mass of Peugeot iOn is 1,450 kilograms. The French model is equipped with 15-inch alloy wheels wearing Dulop tires with low rolling resistance.
The model has a mass of 1120 kg and a autonomy of 150 kilometers. Peugeot officials say, iOn will cost 29,940 euros in France and will be offered with a five-year warranty for batteries. The debut of the sales will take place in 2011, but the French have not announced on which markets will iOn be sold.
