Peugeot presented the surprise prepared, along with the Chinese collaborators for the Shanghai Auto Show. It is the SxC concept prototype that will be the base for a future compact crossover of the French.

The SxC name is an acronym that comes from Shanghai Cross Concept, a prototype that Peugeot brings to the most important auto show in China and that represents the French vision regarding a future production model to rival the Nissan Qashqai. The Peugeot concept proposes a more courageous approach of such a model, with sculptural lines, refined and with a strong expression of the front and the rear. The lights of the concept represent an evolution of the one drawn on the SR1, BB1, EX1 and HR1 concepts.  Another interesting element of design are the antagonistic opposite side-opening doors,  that have a high chance to be included on the future production model derived from the SxC.

As expected, Peugeot does not miss any opportunity to promote its revolutionary new hybrid system that will make its debut on the 3008 model this year. The HYbrid4 package is present on the SxC concept, each of the two engines (one electric and one diesel) engaging an axle of the car. We are talking thus of a hybrid 4×4 when the two engines operate in parallel.

Peugeot EX1 – the bicentenary concept

Peugeot has decided to celebrate 200 years of existence at the Paris Motor Show. On this occasion, the French car manufacturer will unveil a new concept, called EX1. Unfortunately for those who will visit the Paris Motor Show, the concept can only be seen only on the Peugeot representation nearby, and that only the first day. Peugeot presented the futuristic concept and presented new information about the new EX1. It is a electric model and is equipped with two electric engines providing a total of 340 HP and 240 Nm. The two electric engines engage all four wheels and offer a four wheel drive system extremely precise.

The new concept from Peugeot has a height of 0.9 meters and a width of 1.77 meters. The EX1 length has not yet been announced, and its mass is also a mysterious element. The French have announced that the EX1 can get a 1G cornering force and stated that the EX1 is not only a vehicle for the city, but a true record holder. Given its mass is less than 1,000 kilograms, we can say that this will be the fastest 100% electric vehicle in the world. The Peugeot EX1 will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.55 seconds and the quarter mile (402m) in 14.4 seconds. The French say that their model could achieve acceleration 0-100 km/h in just 3.0 seconds with the right settings.

Among the elements that characterize the new concept we can include special doors, no rear wing and a lack of windshield. The EX1 has a cell that protects the passengers and offers only two seats. The Peugeot officials have not announced whether this concept has any real chance to production, but it is possible that the front part will be used in a  future model. However, the French do not exclude the possibility of an extremely limited production.
